OmniSheild is a Scam
In 2019 my wife signed up for a fire safety presentation from a company called Northwest Ohio Protections (Website https://ournetworkprotects.com/). The company had convinced my wife that if we sat through a presentation about fire safety that we could have a free first aid kit. Within minutes my scam radar was on rapid fire. The presentation is less a lesson on fire safety and more an hour long sales pitch designed to incite fear, illicit confusion, and slander the two major smoke alarm manufacturers whose alarms are in most every home in America.
The presentation blew up nearly instantly as I recognized the high pressure sales pitch, the MLM structure, and with my existing knowledge of smoke detectors the gentleman told me "this is the worst I have ever been treated on a sales call" even though I just pushed back on what he was saying and provided counter points to his points. Apparently they preferer a more passive victim.
I am a long time member of u/antimlm on reddit, so after the salesman left I posted my experience on the subreddit. That would have been the end of it. Then one day three years later, a user who had just signed up for reddit began commenting on a year old reddit thread that I had posted on. You can find it here:
Well, I began following this user around reddit and refuting their points. Through the course of the conversation I became suspicious that I was actually talking to the founder and owner of OmniSheild, Christopher Roberts. Either way, this user's persistence in simping for OmniSheild made me realize, there really isn't enough negative press or real information out there about this company, so I decided to make this site. Simple as that.
